The Children of Auril have convinced many of the people of Ten Towns to sacrifice their heat, food, and lives to Auril.
Brother Ozias manages the sacrifices in Bryn Shander.
It's been two days since the last sacrifice. Poor Amias Dawnheart was selected and bound to the dead tree south-west of Bryn Shander. It’s rumoured that he was the second choice after Peter Parker bribed Oziaz.
Speaker Duvessa Shane abhors the sacrifices but feels she must serve the peoples' will and recognises the thin ice she stands on between civilisation and chaos.
Father Lake has the people of Bryn Shander in his pocket so Speaker Shane is forced to let him do it.
There have been multiple murders across Ten Towns.
- The bodies were found the same way the body was found in Bryn Shander.
- An icy dagger is left behind in the corpse.
A comet was seen streaking across the sky to the south about a ten-day ago. Witnesses:
- Incontinentia Buttocks (heard it from some guy in the tavern)
- One of the workers from Torg's Travelling Merchant Caravan came from Good Mead to Bryn Shander, and left yesterday for Targos

5. Good deals at the Blackiron Smithy
There's been another murder (Brother Oziaz)! It was well known that he switched tiles for money and has since been murdered, eviscerated with a super-sharp frozen blade of ice.
